DecimalsPercentagesThe word "percent" is actually the join of the words "per cent", meaning "out of a hundred". For example, This can be read as 35 percent is equal to 35 out of 100 which is equal to 35 one hundredths. To convert a percent to a decimal you divide by 100. This is equivalent to moving the decimal point two places to the left. To convert a decimal to a percent you do the reverse. Hence
