Rational Functions

Division

Division of polynomials can be helpful before you tackle division of rational functions..

To divide by a rational function c/d, you multiply by its reciprocal d/c.

(a/b)/(c/d)=(a/b)*(d/c).

Example

((x^2-2*x+1)/x)/((x+1)/(x^2-1))=((x-1)^3)/x.

Exercise

Evaluate the division and then check your answer.
